Skunk Baxter (Guitarist) – Papa Skunk

Skunk Baxter joins Ralph Sutton and James Mattern and they discuss Skunk Baxter growing up in Mexico and attempting to record a beer commercial in spanish, his band in boarding school and being suspended from the band for being bad, starting out playing classical piano at 5 years old then moving to playing drums as a kid, learning about trumpets and saxophones by reading, the psychology behind guitar solo composition, the first time he was written down as Skunk, Skunk Baxter leaving Steely Dan and joining Doobie Brothers and suggesting that Michael McDonald should join the band, scoring TV shows and working on soundtracks, writing a paper on aircraft missiles which led to working for military and NASA, being at the Pentagon on 9/11, Skunk Baxter’s first concert, first drug and first sexual experience and so much more!

About The SDR Show

The S*x, Dr*gs & Rock N Roll Show – is everything you want in a podcast show but were afraid to ask (especially if your wife was in the room at the time). Two average guys – who live somewhat larger than the average lives. One’s a comedian, one’s a radio/TV host. Together they bring you The SDR Show. SDR is a mainly off-the-cuff, hanging with friends type show – that can be pretty funny, pretty interesting, and pretty crazy at times.
